Interpretation The echoes of 26 ξύνθημα in 30 σύνθημα and of 28 πλησίον
in 29 πλησίον make it clear that everything from 26 ξύνθημα to 28 πλησίον
is a single lemma glossed in what follows. The dicolon in 26 is likely intended
to mark change of speaker, suggesting that 25 έστηκας κτλ (preceded in any
case by an extra letter-space serving to mark the transition from commentary
to text or vice versa) is also part of the lemma (thus tentatively Luppe 1980. 46,
followed by Kassel-Austin). As the comment that follows seems otherwise to
be confined to discussing 26 ξύνθημα κτλ, the alternative is to take έστηκας
ηδ[ as part of the gloss on a separate lemma in the preceding lines (thus Lobel
