Karl Jaspers - Student Christian Movement
Press (1951-1954)
481 Ronald Gregor Smith an Karl Jaspers
Typoskript; DLA, A: Jaspers, auf Briefpapier der Student Christian Movement Press Ltd, London
Beigefügt ist ein Verlagsvertrag zur englischen Übersetzung von »Vernunft und Widervernunft in
unserer Zeit« mit dem Titel »Reason and Anti-Reason in Our Time«.
5th October, 1951
Dear Professor Jaspers,
Thank you for your letter of September 28th.1085 Although our exchange of letters is a
fairly adequate agreement, I am letting you have one of our normal forms of agree-
ment which looks rather intimidating. The important paragraph is 4 (a).
I have already written to the Yale University Press and hope they may co-operate.
I told them they must arrange a royalty agreement direct with you.
I should say also that clause 15, in view of the remote relation between us, should
also be deleted. All that is needed on this document is your signature and I shall send
you a copy of it to keep.
I have asked the B.B.C. if they will send you my latest talk about your work. I also
put in the Hibbert Journal of last January, I think it was, a review of THE PERENNIAL
SCOPE OF PHILOSOPHY.1086 My great problem is always the difference between you
and Karl Barth.1087
Yours sincerely,
Ronald Gregor Smith
